Porter Dodson advises Ashridge Capital on funding the management buy-out of Fargro Limited

David Culshaw, partner in the Porter Dodson Corporate Commercial Team, has acted for Ashridge Capital on its successful management buy-out investment in Fargro.

Fargro is the leading supplier of horticultural supplies in the South and South East. The business has been trading for over 70 years and is recognised as the go-to-supplier for UK commercial growers’ needs, as well as having an impressive consumer offering.

Ashridge Capital is a private equity investor based in the South East actively investing in ambitious management teams. As well as investment by Ashridge Capital, the management team has received backing from Shawbrook Bank Limited.

The Corporate Commercial Team advised Ashridge Capital on all legal aspects of the deal. The team was led by David Culshaw, supported by Matthew Jackson and Robert Moger.

    David Culshaw commented:

We are delighted to have been able to advise Ashridge again with this transaction, which was unusual for a private limited company transaction due to the management team purchasing the shares from approximately 300 shareholders. The investment and the support from Ashridge and Shawbrook will give Fargro the resources to really invest in the growth and development of the business.”

David Sherratt, founder and CEO of Ashridge Capital, commented:

David has acted for Ashridge Capital on all our transactions over the past several years and, once again, performed a valuable role in completing the MBO of Fargro.”
