Porter Dodson has reported continued growth across the business during the last financial year, with particularly strong performance in its Commercial Property and Company Commercial teams.

The result is notable given the volatility in the market, including the uncertainty experienced during the third quarter of 2025 in the lead-up to the Budget announcements. Across the firm, 31% of matters opened during the year came from new clients, reflecting the continued strength of Porter Dodson’s reputation and client offering.

The Family department also recorded well-deserved growth, building on its outstanding reputation for providing specialist advice in complex and sensitive situations. Its continued performance reflects the expertise of the team and the trust placed in it by clients and professional contacts.

Porter Dodson has continued to invest in its people. Staff costs increased by 17% during the year as the firm invested in its existing employees, managed increased National Insurance contributions and supported a growing headcount.

The firm also made strategic investments in its systems and internal technology infrastructure. These investments are designed to improve efficiency, enhance client service and support continued performance across the business.

During the year, Porter Dodson strengthened its partnership with the external recruitment of Oliver Stokes and Victoria Emmett; with Salma Maqsood and Frances Griffiths joining in Q1 of the current financial year. The firm also recognised its internal talent, with Gemma Lindegaard promoted to partner in Commercial Property and two further partners promoted into equity effective 1st May 2026.

Alongside its partner appointments and promotions, Porter Dodson continues to develop its talent pipeline through trainee and apprentice recruitment. The firm also has tactical plans to attract further senior hires from leading Top 100 law firms.

Kate James, Managing Partner, said:

“This is a very good set of results for Porter Dodson, building on exceptional growth in the previous year. This has been driven by the commitment and expertise of our people, the strength of our client relationships and the reputation we have built across the region.

Our strong two-year growth is in line with our wider strategy. Looking ahead, we will continue to strengthen our regional position through our reputation, profile and enhanced service offering, whilst building relationships with both existing and new clients.”

Porter Dodson’s plans for the coming year include further investment in its people and infrastructure, continued development of its trainee and apprentice programmes, and the targeted recruitment of experienced senior lawyers. These initiatives form part of the firm’s broader strategy to build on its regional presence and support sustainable long-term growth.
