Taunton Professionals take to the hockey pitch in the name of Charity

On Monday 14th August Porter Dodson hosted the first Taunton Professionals Hockey Tournament at Taunton Vale Sports Club in aid of Children’s Hospice South West, who provide hospice care for children and young people living with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

Nine teams took part in the tournament from businesses across the local area including AC Mole, Albert Goodman, Carter Jonas, Cooper Associates, Greenslade Taylor Hunt, Milsted Langdon, Stags, Symonds and Sampson and Porter Dodson.

Games were played throughout the afternoon to finish with a Porter Dodson v Albert Goodman final, with Albert Goodman taking the win.

A fantastic afternoon was had by all, brushing off the shin pads in the name of charity. The event raised £700 for the hospice and plans are in place to repeat the event, making it bigger and better for next year.

Kate James, Managing Partner at Porter Dodson said: “It’s great to see so many local professionals out on the hockey pitch, and even better to see their competitive nature take hold – who knew what depth of hockey talent there is in Taunton professional services! It has also helped us continue to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West, one of our chosen charities for the year. We are already looking forward to next year’s event and I would encourage Taunton based professionals who are interested in taking part, to get in touch.”
