Porter Dodson’s Commercial department are delighted to have acted for the sellers in the recent sale of Hornsbury Mill near Chard, a popular four-star hotel and wedding venue.
Headed up by Partner David Culshaw and assisted by solicitors Remziye Aldogan (Corporate Commercial) and Verity Mizen (Commercial Property), the team completed the sale of the business, acting for the sellers after 17 years as the hotel’s successful business owners. Providing the complete service, the sale was also assisted by Sarah Cook advising on employment and TUPE implications.
The period building was originally a nineteenth-century corn mill, which was converted into a four-star hotel that has retained many of its historic features, after being extensively refurbished by the former owners. The hotel includes 10 ensuite letting rooms, a bridal suite, landscaped gardens with a lake, and modern outbuildings, which make it a highly popular venue for weddings and events.
Following completion, David commented “It was a pleasure to act for our clients on an important local transaction which secures the future of a much loved and popular hotel and venue. It was a real team effort from Porter Dodson, providing expertise in many areas to support the sale and achieve the best possible outcome for our clients”.
