Contentious Trusts and Probate
I qualified as a solicitor in 2010 at a regional firm in Bedfordshire, where I grew up. I then relocated to the South West in 2017, where I was a member of the Contentious Trusts and Probate Team at a firm in Taunton. I joined Porter Dodson in November 2021 as a partner.
I am a specialist in contentious trusts and probate, an area of law that covers challenges to the validity of a will or a trust document, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, disputes as to the construction or rectification of a will, as well as claims against executors, personal representatives and trustees. Also, it encompasses claims relating to the beneficial interests in property, including by way of proprietary estoppel, resulting or constructive trusts.
I advise and represent individuals, charities, executors and trustees, both as claimants and defendants, in respect of contentious trusts and probate matters.
I seek to provide clear, understandable and accessible advice to clients, in an empathetic manner, in what is a complex area of law and deals with often very emotional matters. Further, I am a tenacious litigator, seeking to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients.
Outside of work, I am kept busy with three young children and a dog. When I can, I enjoy running, cycling and watching rugby.
