Taunton
Senior Associate
Private Client
I joined Porter Dodson in 2023 and head up the Court of Protection, Mental Capacity and Care team. I qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 and won the Cook and Hatchard’s Law Prize as a Trainee Solicitor.
I work with individuals and their families, who lack mental capacity. I manage the financial affairs of clients where Porter Dodson act as that person’s attorney or deputy. I deal with a variety of Court of Protection applications which range from the appointment of deputies to making Statutory Wills. I can also act for clients in health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection. I also specialise in Community Care Law (adults only). This is the law that governs the rights of vulnerable adults, children, and carers to receive social care and support services from local authorities and the NHS in England and Wales.
I collaborate with clients and their family/carers to help them navigate the legal and practical complexities they face. I listen to my clients and provide an empathetic and compassionate approach to help them reach their goals. I work hard to develop long term trusted relationships with my clients.
Outside of work, I am kept busy by my three children. I also enjoy exploring the North Devon coastline where I live, swimming, reading and trips to the theatre.
