Porter Dodson and Cooper Associates joined forces to host a lively and competitive charity mixed netball tournament on Wednesday 10th September at Taunton Vale Sports Club, raising funds for the Porter Dodson office charities and the Cooper Associates Foundation.
Ten teams from across the local business community took part in the fast-paced afternoon event, including representatives from the Hydrographic Office, PKF Francis Clark, Greenslade Taylor Hunt, Symonds & Sampson, Milsted Langdon, Brewin Dolphin, Albert Goodman, A C Mole, Porter Dodson, and Cooper Associates.
The tournament saw teams split into two groups, with Cooper Associates and Greenslade Taylor Hunt topping Group A, and Albert Goodman and Porter Dodson leading Group B. After a series of exciting matches, the final showdown between Cooper Associates and Albert Goodman ended with Albert Goodman claiming the trophy in a hard-fought and well-deserved victory.
Other highlights included Symonds & Sampson winning the wooden spoon match and A C Mole receiving the award for Best Team Spirit for their sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Attendees also enjoyed a fundraising raffle and refreshments, adding to the community spirit and charitable impact of the event.
Kate James, Managing Partner at Porter Dodson, commented, "It was fantastic to see so many local businesses come together for a fun afternoon in support of great causes. The energy on and off the court was brilliant, and we’re grateful to everyone who took part and contributed."
The event was a great success, showcasing teamwork, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to giving back to the community. Special thanks go to Taunton Vale Sports Club for their hospitality and to the dedicated umpires who ensured fair play throughout the tournament. Gratitude also goes to the generous companies who donated raffle prizes, including Taunton Town Football Club, Meraki Hair Salon (Exeter), Exeter Golf & Country Club, Glenmore Bakery, 915 Coffee Shop, and Creation Golf.
