I am a paralegal working in the private client department of Porter Dodson. I joined the firm in March 2014 and since then have established a strong client base advising on all matters in relation to Powers of Attorney and management of affairs.
I have dealt with a number of deputy applications to the Court of Protection appointing both relatives and partners of the firm. I also manage a number of files whereby the clients have appointed the firm to act as attorneys and I am responsible for the registration of both Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
I am able to offer advice with regard to care home fees and the entitlement to benefits and care funding. I have been involved in making applications for Continuing Healthcare Funding both for clients and retrospectively for the Executors of estates, having obtained a good understanding of the criteria for a successful application. This has led to recent success in obtaining significant refunds from the NHS for retrospective applications, proving that it is still worthwhile pursuing a claim despite recent publicity to the contrary.
I realise how important the preservation of assets is to our clients and how they are entitled to the best available care, whilst being supported financially wherever possible. I am therefore able to give a personal approach looking into individual cases in a caring and considerate manner.Back to index
