We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Manager to join their office on a hybrid/remote basis. The role will involve being responsible for providing advice and assistance on a range of regulatory and compliance areas to ensure that the business adheres to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards relevant to its operations. You will be developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to teams on regulatory and legal requirements pertinent to a law firm.
To be considered, you must have compliance manager experience gained within a similar role within a legal services environment.
This is unique opportunity to review, own and manage the compliance function and make any process improvements you see fit. This varied and interesting role is to provide effective and proactive Compliance and Risk Management across the business to ensure the smooth running of operations and will play a pivotal role within the firm.
The role will entail the following:
Maintaining and updating complaints, claims, breaches and risk registers
Preparing preliminary decisions on complaints
Reporting circumstances and claims to insurers
Overseeing and ensuring continuing competence records are updated and completed
Overseeing and ensuring file reviews and follow ups
Organising firm wide compulsory viewing of compliance seminars
Organising bulk renewal of practising certificates
Taking ownership of insurance renewals
Answering AML, Risk and Compliance queries from Fee-Earners and other staff
Owning and managing various risk and compliance projects
Carrying out administrative duties and ad-hoc duties when required
Maintaining and managing the compliance intranet page for the firm
Preparing compliance reports for the board
Working closely with the fee earners and other staff across the business, this role would best suit someone who is proactive and enthusiastic with great attention to detail and the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
The successful candidate will be someone who has a keen interest in risk and compliance, complaints handling and AML with an analytical mindset and a solution-based approach to solving problems. You will have a compliance experience in a legal environment. You will have a real interest in AML and be a proficient user of the main Microsoft application.
