PTT (Trusts) Legal Assistant – Permanent, Full Time

    A vacancy has arisen in our Wellington office for a full-time legal assistant to join the PTT team supporting a Legal Advisor who specialises in the administration of Trusts. The preference is for someone with a strong educational background, preferably degree level, and whilst not essential some experience in the relevant area of work would be advantageous. 

    Job responsibilities will include:

    • Undertaking the administration of a caseload of straightforward Trusts
    • Liaising with Trustee clients (including Partner Trustees), beneficiaries and external organisations
    • Dealing with the drafting of Deeds of Appointment and Retirement and preparation of minutes
    • Assisting with the registration of Trusts and Estates with HMRC and the prompt filing of Tax returns

    A strong team player, you will demonstrate the ability to work flexibly whilst prioritising a busy workload.  The successful candidate will have a professional and confident manner and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.  IT literacy and numeracy is essential as is a pro-active ‘can-do’ attitude.
