I joined the firm in 1987, became a partner in 1989 and head of residential property in 1999.
I have very wide ranging experience of all aspects of buying, selling, letting and mortgaging land and buildings. From houses and flats to shops, restaurants and offices, my work includes acquisition of sites for residential development and plot sales, and land deals from as small as garden plots up to the buying and selling of farm land.
I have expertise in the most popular forms of equity release (lifetime mortgages), auctions and preparation of bespoke trust deeds between property owners.
My many years’ experience of property work enables me to swiftly focus on the core aspects when receiving clients’ instructions at the outset of a new transaction, drawing their attention to any potential risks and directing their thoughts to aspects and alternatives which they may not have considered. In many cases this can help clients avoid incurring unnecessary expenses and/or find more cost effective solutions. I provide value for money advice.
Despite all the recent developments in speed and ease of remote communication, there are still many occasions when meeting face to face with clients is the most effective means of explaining an issue and obtaining instructions. Clients find our office in the heart of Wellington a very convenient place for this.
I have dealt with property transactions in most parts of England (and Wales) over the years, but the majority of my work has been in Somerset and Devon. This brings experience of particular types of transactions, developments and even individual streets where an in-depth local knowledge enables me to give my clients early advice which can save them money and/or ensure a potential delay to the transaction is avoided.
I am Vice President of the Devon and Somerset Law Society (DASLS) and also the Association of South West Law Socs (ASWLS).Back to index
