I joined the firm in July 2015. With a background in dealing with business sales and purchases, I have particular expertise in advising businesses on TUPE and minimising the risk of claims. I have also acted for numerous employers in successfully enforcing post-termination restrictions to prevent damage by outgoing employees.

I regularly advise upon and prepare all contractual documentation, including zero hours contracts, consultancy agreements and staff handbooks. I handle day to day problems such as disciplinary and grievance matters, sickness absence and poor performance.

I represent clients in a variety of tribunal claims, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing and I have successfully brought counterclaims on behalf of respondent employers. Where possible, I ensure my clients stay out of the courts and tribunals, negotiating and settling claims as appropriate.

I have a specific interest in advising independent food and drink producers and suppliers in Somerset and West Dorset.

One of my first questions for my clients is usually ‘what do you want to achieve?’ By knowing what you are looking for, I can focus on finding a solution and providing advice which helps you to achieve your aims. If your objectives aren’t realistic, I ensure that you understand why and explore the alternatives.

I am a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and regularly provide training seminars to employers and other HR professionals.
