I studied English Literature at undergraduate level before making the decision to pursue a career in law. I joined the firm in 2014 as a Trainee Solicitor and I was admitted as a Solicitor in 2017.
I specialise in the law surrounding children. I regularly act for parents, children and other members of the family, in cases involving Children’s Social Care and private matters between family members. I am an effective advocate and spend the majority of my time in Court representing clients.
My knowledge and experience allows me to quickly and accurately identify clients’ needs and to provide them with solutions that work. This allows clients to feel assured and in control of their case, during what can be an extremely difficult and often distressing time. No one wants to find themselves in Court concerning their children, but I offer straightforward advice delivered with a cool head, with a view to putting my clients in the best possible legal position.
I am an avid rugby enthusiast (a better spectator than a player these days), and the owner of a relentlessly cheerful black Labrador who keeps me very busy and in a constant shortage of socks.
Porter Dodson dealt with my case very well and professionally. I would say it was good value for money and David Beatson was very good and helpful throughout.
Very good team. Always willing to provide good explanations and made me feel much more at ease with the process.
David Beatson has been an absolute godsend through my recent guardianship case. He has always been there when needed and I never felt that anything was too much trouble. A great person with a down to earth attitude and great humour. Thank you.
