Taunton office raises £1200 for The Conquest Centre
Employees at the Taunton office held monthly fundraising events and activities, such as dress down days and sponsored rowing in their reception area, to raise money, which was then match funded by the Partners to bring the total to £1200.
The Conquest Centre provides a range of horse-related activities for adults and children with both physical and learning disabilities, including therapeutic riding and carriage driving along with horse-based learning and developmental activities. The money raised by Porter Dodson will be used to sponsor their carriage driving pony, Bella, who is one of their 14 horses and ponies making such a difference to their clients.
Teresa Wort, Corporate and Community Fundraiser at The Conquest Centre, commented: “We were delighted to have been chosen as the Taunton office’s Charity of the Year and after visiting and seeing our 14 horses and ponies, they selected Bella to raise funds for. Our clients are able to drive Bella from their wheelchair in the carriage, which they greatly enjoy, with some of them even competing!”
Lesley Gaskell said: “I’m pleased we’ve been able raise this money to help the Conquest Centre with their fundraising efforts. They do a wonderful job offering activities to people with a wide range of disabilities. I’d like to thank everyone who supported our events and donated in the various activities that we organised.”
The Conquest Centre is expanding with falconry, a forest school, equine therapy, Day Centre and a newly developed sensory room.
