Amanda's recent work includes:
- Represented a mother within Children Act proceedings involving a Fact Find Hearing where all of the allegations made against the father were found by the court to have been proved and none of the allegations made against her were found to have been proved. The Final Order made was that the father would have no direct contact with the child.
- Represented a father in Children Act proceedings where the mother sought for him to only have supervised contact with the children. The Final Order made was that the parents share equally in the care of the children.
- Represented a father in complex Children Act proceedings where the mother had taken the child to live abroad without the father’s knowledge or consent or an Order of the Court. Successfully secured the return of the child to the jurisdiction and obtained an Order for the father to see the child.
- Represented a husband in Financial Order proceedings involving a Trust. The wife’s final offer before trial was that the husband receive £200,000. The Final Order made was for the husband to receive £1.2million.
- Represented an unmarried mother in injunction and Children Act proceedings. Secured an Order under Schedule 1 of the Children Act for financial provision to enable the mother to buy a house and an Order that the mother have permission to take the children to live in Spain.
- Represented a wife in financial proceedings where the matter settled on favourable terms following a Private FDR saving money in legal fees.
- Represented a former husband upon the former wife’s application to set aside a Financial Remedy Order on the basis that the amount she received following the implementation of her Pension Sharing Order was less than she anticipated. Successfully persuaded the former wife’s solicitor to withdraw her application on the basis that there had been no Barder event, the Court could not vary a Pension Sharing Order after Decree Absolute (Final Order) had been made, she should have agreed to obtain advice from a Pensions on Divorce Expert (PODE) and been advised about ‘moving target syndrome.’
